The Care Certificate training programme and the approach taken by ACT has been invaluable to us at CHADD. The training provided was far more than just a mandatory training exercise as it supported our progress in achieving culture change in the team, empowered staff to take responsibility and contribute ideas, reflect on current practice and ultimately improve the quality of our care service.

The approach was tailored and flexible and the impact was a rejuvenated team, excited and equipped for their role. ACT was also extremely helpful and supportive to us as a senior management team through all of this. We were inspected by CQC and achieved a ‘good’ rating and we know that this training was a key part of that achievement.

The Garth

 The Garth have been delighted to be associated with ACT for the last five years mainly in our quest for excellence and commitment to quality of care.
ACT has supported our organisation with the following:         
Up-skilling our workforce by signposting training and developing a Training matrix
NMDS database training, Dignity training, HR resources, Working together and networking other organisations, Social Media Training, Marketing, Recruitment Open events 2014, Liaising with Job Centre, Valuing and Retention of staff, Showcasing our services at a GP conference 2014.
Help with writing a successful bid (2013) for a grant of £2k from National Skills Academy to set up Local Managers Network bi monthly meetings for Herefordshire Nursing and Residential Homes.
ACT Continues to support in organising and suggesting speakers for the Managers group.
We have a dedicated ACT representative in Clair Rogers who keeps us up to date with local policies and information, she ensures that our Care Home and others get involved in many Health and Social Care/NHS FORUMS ‘Making sure that everyone counts’!    
We cherish our relationship with Clair and ACT for its professionalism and first class support.

Service of Independent Living

SIL has worked closely with and been supported by ACT:

  • In developing the personal assistant workforce. As an organisation ACT recognise the learning and development needs of the future workforce of PA’s . In our experience training providers struggle to understand the significant barriers that DP employer face . ACT have worked hard to gain funding to work with DP employers and understand and over come these barriers. They have worked with SIL’s DP support service to find core training g for PA’s at an affordable cost. ACT have worked with SIL in promotion of the workforce database to include and recognise the level of PA’s working in Herefordshire. They have been involved in setting up opportunities for personal assistants to pilot NVQ’s and work closely with the assessors to develop this on an ongoing basis.
  • To fully implement the use of NMDS within Services for Independent Living so that the data relating to our organisations workforce is captured.
  • To develop a Registered Managers Network specifically for the Home Care and Support Sector. The support of ACT has been instrumental in reaching and engaging a wide range of organisations.

Inspiration Care

We have known ACT since our existence of just over 6 years.

Within that time they have helped us in numerous ways:

  • Recruitment stands at Career Fairs
  • Sign posting us to training opportunities which include supervisory and development, leadership and management, dignity champions, amongst others.
  • They have helped us expand our business by passing on details to other providers due to our unique bespoke training courses
  • They have advised us and supported us on implementing the NMDS system including making us aware and showing us how to complete the Social Care Commitment.
  • They have talked us through and supported us to use the ACT website which has helped us with our recruitment.
  • The support has meant we have been helped to meet our legal obligations as well as looking at initiatives for our business to help retain and train staff.

We have always found the whole team at ACT friendly and approachable and very supportive. They themselves are a great ambassador and advocate for the health and social care sector and we see their role as vital to keep the links between what is going on in the greater agenda of driving up standards to those who are vulnerable.

Their I Care...Ambassador service is inspirational and we rely upon Debbie, Clair & the team to assist us within this ever changing political landscape.
