Retention & Recruitment
Recruitment and selection of staff is a critical activity for any employer. Attracting and recruiting the right people is important, and within the Health & Social Care sectors we want staff with the right attitude, empathy and emotional intelligence.
As part of our support to employers we will be providing up to date information on local and national agendas, updating you on funding opportunities and supporting your recruitment processes with the latest information and guidance.
In the spring of 2009 ACT held a very successful recruitment event in partnership with Jobcentre Plus. Due to the success of 2009 we have booked a number of events across Herefordshire & Worcestershire in March 2010. If you would like to exhibit your vacancies at one of these events please click on the link Employers flyer.doc It is our intention to hold more events that raise the Image, Status & Profile of the sector. Visit our events diary and ACT on Facebook.
West Midlands Regional Public Sector Hub
The European Social Fund Public, Health and Social Care Hub is a West Midlands wide employer engagement project lead by Sandwell MBC. The partnership consists of partners from the West Midlands including Local Authorities, Sector Skills Councils, Colleges, PCT's, NHS Trusts and training providers.
The aim of the hub is to develop, implement and co-ordinate a Hub, that will offer focused employer engagement with regards to recruitment and selection of staff. In the current economic climate it is crucial to un-lock the potential of sectors where there will continue to be recruitment opportunities.
The West Midlands Partnership will work with employers to review their current recruitment practices by highlighting the benefits they can enjoy by signing up to Local Employment Partnerships, and Skills and Job pledges.
The West Midlands Partnership will act as a bridge between employers and programmes throughout the region are designed to engage with job seekers and move them into employment. This process will be supported with pre/post-employment programmes. Please contact ACT for further details.
