Retention & Recruitment
ACT recognises that retention and recruitment is an issue for all employers. In previous years ACT has supported employers with their recruitment by running local recruitment events that worked in partnership with Jobcentre Plus.
During 2011/12 we plan to do more to help employers recruit and retain excellent members of staff. Our intention is to strengthen our partnerships with Jobcentre Plus and other agencies to create more opportunities for us and you to raise the profile of the sector to potential recruits.
In May 2011 Skills for Care published a workforce development strategy ‘capable, confident, skilled’ for people working, supporting and caring in adult social care, produced by employers for employees. This document outlines the Government vision for Adult Social Care and provides the direction and framework for employers to move the workforce along. http://www.skillsforcare.org.uk/wds/
Act embraces this strategy and wants to support employers of all sizes to plan and develop their workforces.
