Dignity in Care

Dignity Action Day is recognised by ACT every year, it aims to ensure people in care are treated as individuals, are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives. Following last year’s campaign over 150 individuals in Herefordshire and Worcestershire signed up as registered Dignity Champions. We are continuing to encourage new champions to follow the lead.

A Dignity Champion is someone who believes passionately that being treated with dignity is a basic human right, not an optional extra. They believe that care services must be compassionate, person centred, as well as efficient, and are willing to try to do something to achieve this.

Champions are all committed to taking action, however small; to create care that has compassion and respect for those using services.
